Enraged protesters set fire to buildings and cars and looted businesses in Ferguson, Missouri, after a grand jury decided not to indict a white police officer over the death of unarmed black 18-year-old Michael Brown, whose shooting exposed deep racial tensions between African-Americans and police. Violence flared after the decision was announced by St Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch at around 8:25pm on Monday evening, and continued throughout the evening and into early Tuesday morning.      After three months of waiting for the controversial verdict, Brown's mother, Lesley McSpadden, collapsed in grief as it was announced, screaming 'This is wrong!' The victim's stepfather screamed 'Burn this b**** down'. Meanwhile, Wilson's attorneys issued a statement in which he thanked 'those who have stood by his side throughout the process'. Within minutes of the announcement by the county's top pro

Femi Gbajabiamila, House of Representatives Minority Leader, was one of the lawmakers who jumped the National Assembly gate during the pandemonium that took place at the premises last week. Speaking on the incident via a statement signed by his research and media assistant, Gbajabiamila stated that he climbed over the gate to save Nigeria’s democracy, Daily Post reports. An excerpt from the statement reads: What happened in the National Assembly yesterday will forever live in infamy. I never thought I would see the day when I would be forced to go over the assembly gates where I work to gain access into the chambers. But then our democracy has to be saved… It was pretty clear the presidency in spite of a court injunction wanted to do something sinister and illegal. They perfected the plot to stop the Speaker and the opposition leader from gaining entry. My members were already in chambers waiting for me to come in so as to provide lead

Cheap Range Rover look alike

Image
Our Chinese brothers are at it again! It is truly a carbon-copy of the Range Rover Evoque. As far as copying is an art, this is a masterpiece. Same overall design, same wheel arches, same shut line, same vents behind the front-wheels arches, same headlights; same grille, same roof, same mirrors. Same everything except its just a fraction of the price. It was designed by a little-known car maker LAND WIND. Who launched the car with brand name as X7 at the Guangzhou motor show in China.  Can you tell the difference?   And it has sparked a furious response from Jaguar Land Rover. Dr Ralf Speth, chief executive of Land Rover, said he will be complaining to Chinese officials over the X7. He told Autocar: The fact that this kind of copying is ongoing in China is very disappointing. As a company we have invested heavily in China with our joint venture partner Chery. That commitment is based on a clear business plan, that allows us to hit our sales targ

Formula 1 - Michael Schumacher 'paralysed and cannot speak'

Image
The motorsports legend suffered severe brain injuries in December 2013 after falling and hitting his head on a rock whilst skiing in the French resort of Meribel. He was recently moved home, but according to ex-F1 driver and close friend, Philippe Streiff, Schumacher’s condition remains grave. Speaking to French radio, he said: “He is getting better but everything is relative. It’s very difficult. He can’t speak," said Streiff, who was himself left paralysed after a crash in 1989. “Like me he is in a wheelchair, paralysed. He has memory problems and speech problems.” A spokeswoman for Schumacher said Streiff’s comments were “his opinions”. 45-year-old Schumacher was placed in an induced coma in Grenoble hospital for many months as doctors worked tirelessly to save the German’s life. He was moved home in September and, with his family spending £100,000-a-week on his healthcare, started to make progress in his recovery from the crash. Jean-Fra

Motivational Monday

Sometimes, it can be hard to get out of bed on a Monday morning.  I hope you had a great weekend, and i guess it wasn't long enough. But you have got to shake that sleep off and get off that cozy bed of yours because your hustle calls. So whatever your hustle is, this is some of the best motivational quotes to get you out of that bed.    I do not know anyone who has got to the top without hard work. That is the recipe. It will not always get you to the top, but should get you pretty near. – Margaret Thatcher Big jobs usually go to the (wo)men who prove their ability to outgrow small ones.– Ralph Waldo Emerson Definiteness of purpose is the starting point of all achievement. –W. American aide worker Peter Kassig beheaded by ISIS

Image
American aid worker and former soldier Peter Kassig was beheaded by ISIS terrorists, the White House confirmed Sunday, hours after a video claiming to show the victim surfaced online. ISIS held Kassig as a hostage and in previous communications had threatened his life. The video shows the aftermath of a beheading in which the victim is not clearly recognizable. President Barack Obama confirmed the 26-year-old's beheading, saying Kassig was taken from us in an act of pure evil by a terrorist group that the world rightly associates with inhumanity."  Kassig, who converted to Islam in captivity, also went by the name Abdul-Rahman Kassig. He first traveled to the Middle East as a U.S. soldier and returned as a medical worker, feeling compelled to help victims of war. He did aid work in Syria, where he was captured. He was held hostage for over a year. "We are heartbroken to learn that our son, Abdul-Rahman Peter Kassig, has

AFCON 2015 Qualifiers: Congo 0-2 Nigeria

Image
Congo hosted Nigeria in the 5th match day of Orange Afcon 2015 qualifiers. It took the Champions of Africa up until the 58th minute to turn the match around after Emineke was awarded a penalty that was successfully converted by Super Eagles returnee Ike Uche. Two minutes later, the hosts were also rewarded with a penalty but captain Enyeama managed to keep the Super Eagles’ precious lead before second half substitute Aaron Samuel sealed the victory with an exquisite goal in the 91st minute.  But one of the major highlights of the match would be when a completely full stadium was completely emptied in split seconds just immediately after the second goal. The Congolese fans were frustrated after conceding the second goal which led to the angry fans throwing missiles into the pitch. What's African football without drama? Aaron Samuel's goal not only put Nigeria in pole position to qualify ahead of Congo but brought the entire house down. Group A Standings:
