Ebola: Nigerian Health Minister Confirms Death of Nurse

 
NTA News is reporting that the Nigerian Health Minister Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu has confirmed the death of the second Ebola victim.

She was a Nigerian nurse who came  in contact with late Liberian-American Ebola victim Patrick Sawyer.
“Nigeria has now recorded 7 confirmed cases of Ebola Virus Disease (EVB).” Chukwu said.
Those who have died include the “index patient” – Patrick who got the virus from his sister and a nurse who treated him.
“All the Nigerians diagnosed with EBV were primary contacts” of Patrick Sawyer, the minister added.

Deadly Journey Across The Mediterranean: Dozen Drown off Libya

  The dangerous trip to Europe that has claimed over 60,000 people on the Mediterranean sea still does not scared a lot of people who seek to escape from poverty and conflicts in Africa and the Middle East by heading for Europe. The migrants are feared to have drowned when their rickety boat sank off Libya's coast. The Survivors told UN and aid agencies more than 120 people were on the boat when it started taking in water on Wednesday. A number of people including women and children  drowned in the chaos that followed. Nearly 90 migrants were rescued and later arrived in Italy. All of the migrants are believed to have been from Sub-Saharan Africa, including Senegal, Mali, Benin and Nigeria, Save the Children spokeswoman Giovanna Di Benedetto told the BBC.
