Murray and Nadal through to Quarter Finals


Tennis stars Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal both cruised to wins in the China Open which took them through to the quarter finals.

The 6th seed Murray earned 73 per cent of points on his first serve and broke 5 times on his opponents’ serve to seal a 6-2 6-2 win in an hour and 19 minutes.

Returnee Rafael Nadal continued to gather steam in his bid for an ATP World Tour final appearance with a 6-3 6-4 win over qualifier Peter Gojowcyk.

Nadal is contesting his first tournament in 13 weeks and has a 14-2 record in Beijing. He is seeking for the 65th trophy of his career and a fifth title of 2014.

Naira now 241 against US$1

  The naira hit another record low of N241 against the dollar at the parallel market on Monday as the Central Bank of Nigeria’s restrictions on foreign exchange sale fuelled unofficial trade in dollars, Reuters reported. Financial experts say the ban placed by CBN on importers from accessing Nigerian foreign exchange markets for the importation of 41 items has led to the volatility of the Naira-Dollar exchange rate at the black market.
