AFCON 2015 Qualifiers: Congo 0-2 Nigeria

Congo hosted Nigeria in the 5th match day of Orange Afcon 2015 qualifiers. It took the Champions of Africa up until the 58th minute to turn the match around after Emineke was awarded a penalty that was successfully converted by Super Eagles returnee Ike Uche.

Two minutes later, the hosts were also rewarded with a penalty but captain Enyeama managed to keep the Super Eagles’ precious lead before second half substitute Aaron Samuel sealed the victory with an exquisite goal in the 91st minute.

But one of the major highlights of the match would be when a completely full stadium was completely emptied in split seconds just immediately after the second goal. The Congolese fans were frustrated after conceding the second goal which led to the angry fans throwing missiles into the pitch.

What's African football without drama? Aaron Samuel's goal not only put Nigeria in pole position to qualify ahead of Congo but brought the entire house down.

Group A Standings: South Africa 11pts, Nigeria 7pts, Congo 7pts, Sudan 3pts. All to play for in the final match day games on Wednesday.
